One in three children in Okinawa Prefecture lives in poverty, a number that is more than twice the national average for Japan.  As a bakery business based on this beautiful island, and as a mom myself, I wanted to find some way to give back to this beautiful island we now call home.  In an effort to do what we can to make a difference, Swirl Okinawa will donate a percentage of its monthly sales to the Okinawa Kodomo no Mirai Kenminkaigi (Prefectural Council for the Future of the Children of Okinawa), an initiative led by the government of Okinawa that collects donations to fund nonprofit organizations and initiatives to better the lives of the children of Okinawa.  I hope that you will help us bake (and eat!) our way to making a difference in our community!

スワール沖縄のお菓子には南の島沖縄への想いも詰まっています。青い海とリゾートのイメージが強い沖縄ですが、沖縄の子供３人に１人が貧困状態に置かれていると言われています。南の島のお菓子屋さんとして,２児の母として私たちに何が出来るだろうと考えた末、毎月の売り上げの一部を沖縄県子供の未来県民会議に寄付することにしました。皆様もお菓子を通して沖縄の子供達の未来へ貢献しませんか？
